Concept

This would mark my third online series overall, after “Team Misfit” (2010-2015) and Moses Gunn (2011 - 2014) [Both Unfinished] as well as my first Playthrough / Gameplay / “Let’s Play” series. Footage was recorded in late 2014 with episodes being released starting in June of 2015. With my previous video series being “machinima’s” I turned to the “Let’s Play” model of video making for what I thought was an easier and faster way to make videos. I quickly found out this was not the case and really saw how much effort was needed to be a single person providing commentary for hours of game-play. I also used this as my first leap into learning Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

The first ten episodes of the series focus on the main launch missions of Destiny. Being my first time providing commentary instead of scripted dialogue you can clearly see and hear the learning curve. By the first DLC, The Dark Below, the series begins to pick up a bit more and Episode 11 becomes the benchmark for the upward direction the series takes. By the “Finale” in Episode 18 the series wraps up with the subtle jokes I’ve been setting up since the inception of the first episode.
